Frosting, moisture, and extreme low temps destroy most labels. CleanMark sterile cryogenic labels are designed for the coldest conditions and the messiest transitions, so your products stay clearly labeled through it all.
Keep tracking and safety information intact at the cryo temperatures
Our sterile cryogenic labels are engineered for ultra-low temperatures and real-world lab handling, including moisture exposure during transfers, inventory checks, shipping events, and thaw cycles. No edge lift, illegibility, or cracking.

Read on for answers to our customers’ most common vial and syringe label questions.
Can CleanMark cryo labels handle ultra-low temperatures without cracking or lifting?
Yes. We engineer our cryogenic labels using facestocks and adhesives engineered for extreme cold conditions so labels remain flexible and adhered.
Do your cryo labels still work when frost or condensation is present?
Yes. Our cryogenic labels are designed to maintain bonding and readability during moisture exposure from temperature transitions.
Can CleanMark cryogenic labels be applied to curved cryo vials and tight rack systems?
Absolutely. We engineer our cryo labels with conformable materials and right-sized formats to fit small diameters and clearance constraints.
Will barcodes and 2D codes scan reliably after freezing and handling?
Yes. We use durable print methods, coatings, and laminates to ensure design for scan performance and print legibility even after storage and movement.
Can labels be applied before freezing and still perform after storage and thaw cycles?
Yes. We work with you to design your cryo label to perform at your application timing and temperature profile and to support freeze/thaw workflows.
Do you offer removable options for relabeling or retesting?
Yes. Residue-free controlled-removal options are available when changeouts are part of your process.
Gloss
Provides a shiny, gloss finish — not recommended for QR and bar codes
Matte
Matte finish — greate for detailed images and text that require high print clarity
Laminated
Versatile technique to provide added protection to printing, change label stiffness, or modify label gloss
EtO
Contains EtO‑sensitive ink that visibly and permanently shifts color once proper ethylene oxide gas exposure conditions have been met
Gamma
An indicator chemical compound irreversibly changes color when exposed to a validated dose of gamma radiation, offering fast visual confirmation of sterilization
Autoclave
Heat‑sensitive ink permanently changes color once the required steam temperature and dwell time have been achieved in an autoclave cycle

100% pre-printed
CleanMark prints the entire label, including any variable data like bar codes or serial numbers
Partially pre-printed
CleanMark prints static info but leaves space for handwritten or on-site printing of variable or time-dependent data
Blank
Label is completely blank upon delivery
Direct thermal
Uses heat-sensitive film and a heated print head to create images without ink or ribbons
Thermal transfer
Transfers ink from a ribbon onto the label using heat for long-lasting, durable prints
Ink jet
Sprays tiny droplets of ink directly onto the label surface for full-color, high-resolution prints
Laser
Uses a laser beam and toner to produce crisp, smudge-resistant labels with sharp detail
Handwritten
Labels are manually marked using a pen or marker, offering maximum flexibility but limited consistency
